After Dodgers GM Ned Colletti offered Manny Ramirez a player favorable 2 year $45M deal, Manny Ramirez and his agent, Scott Boras, met for several hours in Boras's Newport Beach, CA offices to plan their next move. According to an anonymous source, the two men were said to be screaming at each other for quite some time before Boras stormed out of his own office. Several hours later, Scott Boras released a statement to the media announcing that he will no longer represent Manny Ramirez. Ramirez then released a statement to ESPN saying he will now represent himself in negotiations with the Dodgers and other teams. Manny then publicly countered the Dodgers' offer with his own 2 year $46M offer from Manny Ramirez. When questioned on what Ramirez's intentions were in offering himself a contract, Manny quickly stated that "It's Manny Mania, I just want to get in on the Manny Ramirez Sweepstakes before it's too late". Reporters were quick to notify Ramirez at his home in Miami that he couldn't possibly take his own offer because Manny Ramirez isn't a team. A confused Manny looked at the reporters and responded, "Manny made the offer, it's up to the Dodgers to counter it. Manny wants me on his team and Manny is willing to pay. I can't control what Manny does."  Manny then went back to what he described as "Taking Infield," hitting balls to several household appliances scattered in his backyard, each with the letters "MR" and a number painted on them. Ned Colletti is said to be preparing a 2 year $47M deal to be offered to Manny later this evening after the MR team ice cream social.
