"It's An Awful Day Here in Metland."

These words were spoken this evening by Ron Darling in the pre-game show to today's Met game.  "Adam Rubin is not the issue here, [dude]," Keith remarked shortly thereafter.

This is a terrible time to be a Met fan.  It's like watching a team slowly dismantle itself, or more aptly, watching a train wreck in slow motion.  The only thing I can say is that maybe, perhaps, hopefully, the low point of this season will come at the end of July instead of the end of September like it has for the past two years.

We just won two games.  I'd like to say that this team will rally from something like this - some teams will - a team with character will get angry right now, and say "fuck this, I'm not going to sit around and let this season fall to shit around me - from the front office down to the field."  I'd like to say this team will fight the good fight, and the Media will let them be.  I'd like to say that, but Metland is no fairytale world.  I have a feeling that instead, all we will soon be showing up with fresh bruises.

Met fan? You'll think you've been fucked by a train!
